Petting Farm

Updated: Apr 5, 2020

I was visiting a local petting farm one autumn afternoon. A young boy and his grandmother caught my attention. The grandmother obviously had great affection for the little boy. She held his hand and walked with him. They stopped to look at each animal. He was very interested, but a little apprehensive. These animals were new and strange to him. The farm animals greeted him with snorts and whinnies, hoping for a treat. He wasn’t sure of the strange sounds and smells and he also wasn't sure if he wanted to pet them. The grandmother was very patient and gentle with him.

This drawing is based on the sweet interaction between the boy and his grandmother.
